Buskerud » Eggedal Borgerstue
Eggedal Borgerstue is originally an old way station, dating from 1919. Now the place is a hotel, run by the same family for over 40 years. The hotel is situated in Buskerud in scenic Kunstnerdalen, the "Valley of Artists", between the homes of artists Th. Kittelsen at Lauvlia and Chr. Skredsvig' at Hagan – a short way from the Blaafarveværket Museum. A great base if you want to walk in the mountains and explore the great outdoors in Trillemarka, Haglebu, Tempelseter or Norefjell (plenty of alpine ski touring in the area).
Eggedal Borgerstue has 16 rooms and a number of cozy living rooms and lounges. The names of the rooms reflect their former functions as "Doctor's Office", " Priest's House," etc. You are free to use our wireless network. Lounge with TV.
Our cafe serves homemade Norwegian food from natural local ingredients. We recommend the rømmegrøt (a special Norwegian porridge), trout and elk, which are always on the menu. Open 10.00 to 21.00. On Sundays a lunch/dinner buffet between. 1300 and 1800. Special menus are availble for parties, weddings and conferences.
There is also an exciting gift and furnishings shop in our small hotel, "Grandma's Attic", which follows the hotel's opening times. Members of the organization Hanen ("The rooster"), a certification scheme for Norwegian rural tourism and food.
