Fagerheim Fjellstugu is beautifully located in the middle of Hardangervidda, next to road 7, and has road access throughout the year. The closest town is Geilo, which is a half-hour drive away. Here, at 1170 m, you can gaze across a glittering mountain lake and enjoy fantastic views in all directions – not least towards the impressive Hardangerjøkulen glacier. We are happy to greet you whether you are walking or you arrive in your car. You will be warmly welcomed by your hosts, who live here in the mountains throughout the year. You will arrive at a wonderfully cosy, recently restored mountain lodge with pleasant common rooms, a fireplace and bedrooms with a touch of nostalgia. Well renovated though not luxurious, it is wonderfully cosy, clean and tidy. If you are lucky, you can sleep in our four poster bed, and we have other charming beds with old-fashioned, floral bed linen. We have no en suite rooms, and no whirlpool baths! We provide clean, tidy bathrooms, with separate showers for men and women. 20 rooms/55 beds. Here, you won’t have to share with people you don’t know. If you have a dog, it is welcome to stay in your room. At Fagerheim we have a mountain café during the Easter holidays and over the summer. You will be served decent, hearty, well-made food, with no frills. We made good use of what nature has to offer and our meals include trout from the surrounding waters, as well as game, mushrooms and berries from nature’s larder. You may not be able to choose from a ten-course menu, but we guarantee a good filling meal of traditional food that tastes great. We are fully licensed, so that you can sup on a well-deserved beer, a glass of wine or perhaps a little snaps after your outing. Best wishes, Inger-Marie og Ralph
