Eastern Norway » Eidsbugarden Høyfjellshotell
Eidsbugarden Hotel is a Mountainfjord Hotel with a history that goes back to 1868 when the poet and mountain hiker Aasmund Olavsson Vinje built the first cabin at this location. The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Jotunheimen, 1065 meters above sea level at the west end of lake Bygdin.
The area around Eidsbugarden has been mountain people's favourite for generations, and is still an attractive starting point and destination for hiking and recreation. Here, tourists and others might delight in the beauty of good food and wine, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
The food we serve is called “Rustic Gourmet”. The menu holds a high quality and is based on local ingredients like trout and game. Eidsbugarden is situated in the mountains and nearby the fjord. It is important to us that our menu reflects this.
Surrounded by majestic mountains and a wonderful nature, Eidsbugarden is a much appreciated starting point for mountain tourists. The hiking terrain is highly varied and offers both easy trails and more challenging ones, where the summits reach more than 2000 meters above sea level. In other words, here is something for both beginners and experts.
We like to believe that Eidsbugarden Hotel is the most exotic hotel you will find in Norway.
