Rena is a small town with a population of approximately 4300 and a variety of activities both summer and winter. The place is known for its major international sports activities, the Birkebeinerrennet (the Birkebeiner ski race) and the Birkebeinerrittet (the Birkebeiner cycle race). The track is also well prepared for use at times other than the above mentioned events.

The rivers Glomma and Rena are acknowledged fishing rivers. Our knowledgeable guides will take you to the best places for fishing and ensure that you enjoy your experience. If you are looking for a golf experience over and beyond the usual, we recommend Sorknes Golf. Deep in our forests live the 4 large predators, - wolf, bear, lynx and wolverine. Very large, well equipped holiday house of high quality, located in peaceful and beautiful surroundings on the farmstead Valmsnes gård. You can relax both infront of the inside fireplace as well as outside on the terrace with great view over the lake Osensjøen. Besides the owner, living on the same farm, there are no other neighbours in the next area. In this region the conditions are good for outdoor life, hunting & fishing. Watersportcentre Osensjøen: 10 km. State centre for parachuting in Østre Æra: 8 km. Alpincentre: Furutangen: approx.20 min and Trysil: 40 min. Start-area of the Birkebeinerrennet in Rena: 26 km.
