From old times, the name “Sjoa” means “white water”.
The original white water rafting company since 1984, NWR (Norwegian Wildlife and Rafting AS), is situated on the idyllic Sjoa Rafting Centre (on an old farm from the middle age) not far from the National Parks Rondane and Jotunheimen. The valleys and mountains around create the base location as one of the sunniest and brightest places in the whole valley. However, the bus trip from the base to the rafting start place on the white water Sjoa River is less than 20 minutes. From our unique location on the riverside, we arrange family trips at the Lågen river with various falls and enjoyable Class 1-2 with organized buss transport for returning to the base (i.e. minimum bus transport).
