The Norwegian Emigrant Museum is Norway`s only national museum devoted solely to the history of emigration to overseas destinations.

The outdoor museum illustrates the life led by Norwegian emigrants to the American Midwest during the 1880`s.

The Norwegian Emigration Memorial Church, built in Minnestota in 1896, is the natural centrepiece of the outdoor section. The church is used for lectures, concerts an other cultural event, as well as services. The outdoor section also includes a pleasant picnic area. The museum building houses various exhibitions related to emigration and immigrations.
