Norway’s first opera house has rapidly become public property. The Oslo Opera House has established itself as an architectural and artistic success that teems with visitors, both inside and outside. Designed by the Norwegian architects Snøhetta, the spectacular building houses The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, one of Norway's great cultural institutions. With three stages and state-of-the-art equipment the building makes possible a broad repertoire, a variety of performances and spectacular productions. As the first opera house in the world to let visitors walk on the roof, it has become one of Norway’s foremost attention. The building has received many awards and has aroused enormous international attention. Here you can enjoy performances and concerts from the classical to the modern, and the size of the audiences shows that opera and ballet have never been more popular in Norway.
