Eastern Norway » Tinn Museum

Tinn Museum is a museum of rural life featuring culturally historic farm buildings that deal with the ancient farming community in our region. Here you can study building history from the 1000s up to 1900 and see the social divisions between farmer and crofter, and how people gradually improved their standard of living.

The museum offers guided tours of the old buildings, where you can see how farmers and crofters lived. Tinn Museum also houses a large collection of artefacts including stave church doorways, textiles, materiel from the Second World War, old prints and drawings. The museum also has a lot of equipment and furnishings from the old farming community.
