Back to the vikings
High above Vågå, more than 2100 feet above the sea on the sunny side of the valley, you find Valbjør Farm. From here one can admire the view up towards the white mountains of Jotunheimen and down upon the green waters of Lake Vågå. The farm is managed ecologically, with sheep, goats, and some vegetables and herbs.
The farm consists of 12 vintage log cabins with altogether 22 beds. Nordre stugu (the north cabin), Vetlstugu (the small cabin), and Aasheimstugu are equipped for complete household independence. There are also beds in Nybuloftet and Gammelloftet, which in the latter date back as far as the 17th century.
We serve traditional cuisine as well as local delicacies. Tourist busses and groups are welcome, and we arrange parties and events on request. Our pub is always a popular and festive venue for special occasions.
We also arrange courses in local handicrafts as well as guided tours in a unique rural countryside. There is outstanding hiking terrain in the area, with a number of marked trails by or near the farm.
