ELVERUM - TOWN OF CULTURE IN VILLMARKSRIKET HEDMARK
“Villmarksriket’s town of culture” is the slogan we would like our town to be associated with. In the heart of this wilderness, where wolves roam, is a vibrant cultural life with a wide range of galleries and museums. The Norwegian Forest Museum and the Glomdal Museum are well worth a visit. Cultural Festival in Elverum is inland Norway’s major cultural festival. Leiret, Elverum’s town centre, offers a wide selection of shops, charming restaurants and cafés, and is ideal for a stroll.
Elverum’s competitive advantage is the closeness to nature. The county consists mostly of forest, and Elverum can safely be called the forest capital of Norway. But not only is there mile upon mile of woodland, Norway’s longest river, Glomma, runs straight through the town.
Opening hrs: 10-16 (17 during summer)
