Destination Arnøy promotes South- and Nordarnøy (”Arnøy”) as a tourist destination for travellers, and as a beautiful site for would-be full time or part time settlers and vacationers.

From us you may buy a plot for a house, cabin or a live-in boathouse, or rent our fully renovated house in the local style, the ”Drengestua” (the farmhands’ house) – or part of it.

Activities

• Mountains and Island trips
  Gildeskål is enriched with mountains shaped during the last glacial period. A mountain hike in Gildeskål is a wild, beautiful and enchanting experience.
• Animal life
  If you wish to experience nature, Arnøy is a fantastic starting-point. The islands offer a rich animal life and ”lots of weather”. Nature is there to be used, but please be careful and considerate. Especially, spring and summer is the nesting season for birds and animals.  
• Bathing
  Both North Arnøy and South Arnøy have fine beaches easy to reach, as well as many of the smaller islets close by. Bathing North of the Arctic Circle can be cold, but on warm days and on an afternoon high tide, even the heat-loving may be lured into the water.
• Fishing
  A late-night trip on the ocean, watching the sun almost go down in the sea and then rise again, simply has to be experienced. The ocean around the Arnøy islands have fed the islands’ inhabitants for centuries. Traditionally, serious fishing is done from a boat, but there are many fine sites for land-based angling as well, especially in the Arnøy sound, from or around the bridge.
