The North Norwegian Artist Center (NNKS) is a hub institution for Northern Norway, with the role of art producer and educator. The NNKS is owned and operated by the union of Fine Art and the union of Arts and Crafts in Northern Norway. NNKS is financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, the municipality of Vågan, and the three Counties of Northern Norway: Finnmark, Troms and Nordland.

Our primary business areas are exhibitions in our own gallery, public art, art sale and art education. The Artist Center is very active towards children and youths through the national art education program. NNKS also initiates art projects outside of its own gallery, and collaborates with other institutions on bigger projects.

The most important part of NNKS is our gallery, where we have changing exhibitions all year round. The exhibitions range from everything from printmaking to sound art, all done by professional artists from both Northern Norway and other parts of the country.

In connection to our gallery, we have a beautiful art shop with a wide range of merchandise. We sell prints, paintings and arts and craft done mainly by artists from Northern Norway. You will find most of it in our web shop: www.nnks.no
