Hamaroy Fishcamping is a family driven resort in peaceful and family friendly surroundings in Nordland county, on the eastside of the Vestfjord, between Fauske and Narvik. Within walking distance you will find a grocery store, a bank, a postoffice, Hamaroy Guesthouse, a gym, a surgery, museums, a bus-stop and the local high-school. 100 m from the Knut Hamsun-Centre - developed by star architect Steven Holl. You can find many possibilities for activities and cultural adventures. For example: Salmon fishing in the tidewater current Glimma. Hiring boats with or without a motor or canoes and fishing or enjoying some peace and quiet with the seagulls and the eagles (Hamaroy has Norway's highest stock of white-tailed eagles). At Helland hestesenter, which is only 13 km. away, you can rent a horse and go riding on one of the many paths in the area. Unique possibility for an overnight stay in the historical house of the famous poet Knut Hamsun. He lived in this house for 6 years.
