RiddoDuottar Museat is a museum association that consists of four museums/institutions that are located in different municipalities of West Finnmark. During the Winter season the museums in Karasjok and Kautokeino are open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 till 15:00. The museums are closed every Monday and weekend. The museums in Kvalsund and Porsanger are opened upon request during the Winter season. The four museums/institutions are presented below.

Jáhkovuona mearrasami musea/ Kokelv Coastal Sami Museum
is situated in the Kvalsund municipality. This museum focuses on displaying items/objects from the Coastal Sami region.

During the summer season (week 26-31) the museum in Kokelv in Kvalsund is open every day. Monday-Friday 10.00-16.00 and Saturday-Sunday 12.00-15.00.
Entrance: 40 /30 (ordinary ticket/Group over 10)

Porsáŋggu musea/Porsankin museo/
Porsanger Museum

emphasises on the meeting/exchange/influence/relationship between the following three tribes: (1) Sami, (2) Norwegian and (3) Kven culture.

In the summer season the museum in Skoganvarre in Porsanger is open (week 26-31) Tuesday-Sunday 11.00-16.00.
Entrance: 40 /30 (ordinary ticket/Group over 10)

Guovdageainnu gilišilju/Kautokeino Folk Museum
has a large collection at the indoor museum and in addition has an outdoor museum. The latter are buildings typical/specific/representative for the Kautokeino region.

In the summer season the museum in Kautokeino (week 24-32) is open Monday-Saturday 09.00-18.00 and Sunday 12.00-18.00. In the winter season it is open for the public on Tuesday – Friday 09.00 – 15.00. Closed on Mondays and weekend.

Samiid Vuorká-Dávvirat/The Sami Collections
in Karasjok is the administrative centre/institution/seat of the RiddoDuottarMuseat association. This museum displays objects and Sami art from “Sapmi” (= land/geographical area where the Sami reside). The outdoor museum offers the visitor a view on the Sami lifestyles in the past.

In the summer season the museum in Karasjok (week 23-32) is open every day from 09.00-18.00.
In the winter season the museum in Karasjok is open for the public on Tuesday – Friday 09.00 – 15.00. Closed on Mondays and weekend.
