Northern Norway » Varanger Sámi Museum

Várjjat Sámi Musea/Varanger Sámi Museum is located at the inner shore of the Varanger fjord in eastern Finnmark. The exhibition in the main building tells about the Coastal Sami history and prehistory. Open Air Area with Bird Watch Shelters. In Mortensnes Cultural Heriage Area (20 km from the museum) you can experience monuments from Sami prehistory, such as housegrounds and burials. In the Information Hall a newbuild exhibition about Sami religion is accessible during summer season.
