Autrått Fort Furthest out in the Trondheim Fjord, in Ørland municipality, lies Austrått Fort (Austrått Fort), which was constructed by the German occupying forces during the Second World War.

The cannon at Austrått, with a triple-barrelled gun turret, is the only one of its kind remaining. The cannon tower, which originally sat on the battleship Gneisenau, has three 28.3 cm cannons and a range of 38,000 m. The cannon goes five stories below ground level and weighs almost 1,000 tons.
