Tydal – mountain community in border country

In the small and beautiful mountain village of Tydal you will find a wide range of outdoor pursuits, stunning scenery and recreational activities. The area offers a rich selection of cultural events and attractions, such as the fascinating outdoor theatre "Karolinerspillet", the Tydal Festival, Brekka Bygdetun farmstead and Tydal museum.

Tydal is centrally located between Trondheim/Stjørdal and Røros with the Sylan mountain range as its nearest neighbour.

In Tydal you can experience horseback riding, fishing in lakes and rivers, cycling and skiing. Great hiking opportunities include the Karoliner and Pilgrim trails. There is also a well-marked route network through Sylan. Accommodation in hotels, cabins and camping, plus conference and corporate event facilities.

Tydal has good bus connections to Trondheim/Stjørdal, about an hour to Trondheim Vaernes and Røros airports. There are ice fishing trails for snowmobiles at Essand and Nesjøen and the area has a rich fauna with birds, reindeer and Arctic foxes.
