Telemark Museum is made up of nine museums in lower Telemark. Telemark is often referred to as a miniature Norway, and through our exhibitions you may experience both Norway`s agricultural and coastal history. Our museums cover a large number of topics through a wide range of styles of presentation, and are very much worth a visit. www.telemarkmuseum.no

Playwright Henrik Ibsen was born in Skien, the county capital. His childhood home at Venstøp is today a modern museum, dedicated to his world famous works and his early years.
In Skien you will also find the estate Søndre Brekke Gård, surrounded by a beautiful park, exhibitions and an outdoor museum.
In Porsgrunn you will find Porsgrunnsmuseene. The museum tells the story about maritime culture and porcelain. You are also welcome to visit DuVerden, which is a new shipping – and science centre that will be open for visitors in 2013.


Brevik Bymuseum is housed in the old City hall. Here you can learn about the history of occupation and Cort Adeler.
Bamble museum is located right on the waters edge in Langesund. The museum tells the story of our fishing traditions.
At Berg-Kragerø Museum you can enjoy the story of Edvard Munch and Kragerø. Berg-Kragerø Museum also includes Theodor Kittelsens childhood home, Kittelsenhuset, situated in the center of Kragerø.
Ulefos Hovedgaard is a real mansion, unique in a Norwegian context, built by Nils Aal.
Bø Museum is a traditional museum with traditional music and national costumes.
We have children`s museum at all of our museums throughout the season. It maintains activities suitable for children from 5-12 years.
