Vestfold » Norwegian Naval Museum
Norwegian Naval Museum maintains and present the history and heritage of the Norwegian Navy.
The museum was founded in 1853 and the exhibition presents the Royal Norwegian Navy's history from the grand era of the Danish-Norwegian fleet in the 17th and 18th century, through the builing of a national Norwegian Navy in the 19th century, and up to modern times and the 2nd World War.
Outside the museum, visitors can go inside the submarine "Utstein" and experience the life aboard a submarine. "Utstein" served in the times of the Cold War and was an important part of Norway's naval defence against invation. A "must-see" for both children and adults!
