Western Norway » Norwegian Glacier Museum
The Norwegian Glacier Museum is situated at the head of the scenic Fjaerlandsfjord with the glacier Jostedalsbreen as its nearest neighbour. Jostedalsbreen is the largest glacier on continental Europe and it is a National Park. The museum is a visitor centre for the park.
The hands-on exhibits reveals all you’d probably want to know about glaciers and how they have sculpted the Norwegian landscape. Our climate exhibition takes you on a journey from the far distant past to the near future and you will witness the influences on our fragile atmosphere and the climate it creates.
Do your own experiments with 1000 year old ice from Jostedalsbreen and see a spectacular multi-screen movie from the glacier.
